Shipping
We offer a flat rate shipping fee of R120 within South Africa. We also offer a free shipping option for orders exceeding R4000. We service all areas in South Africa.
Generally, local (JHB) orders are fulfilled using our own vehicles, where as other areas are serviced using third party couriers. Local orders are fulfilled within 1-2 working days, whilst other areas are fulfilled within 2-5 working days. Please note that whilst we do our best to ensure couriers are on schedule with orders, we cannot be held responsible for possible delays.
If you require an item urgently, please contact us at sales@standardlighting.co.za before placing your order, so that we can access an accurate handling and shipping time for you. We may quote a higher delivery fee for an express service.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the information provided is accurate. This includes delivery addresses and contact information. We will not be held responsible for any errors made due to incorrect information. If you need to update information on an order, please contact us at sales@standardlighting.co.za with your order number and we will rectify the problem before the order is sent.
Collections
We offer the option for customers to collect their orders directly from us. If you have selected the option to collect, you will receive an email/phone call notifying you when your order is ready for collection. Please ensure that you bring your order confirmation with so we can release the order.
Note that no orders will be released without an order confirmation. Please also note that we will not allow entrance to anyone that has not received confirmation from us that an order is ready for collection.
Returns
We understand that sometimes returns are necessary. Our returns policy lasts 14 days from date of purchase. Please note that this does not apply to products that becomes defective under a warranty period.
Our criteria for accepting returns are as follows:
- The product must be unused.
- The product must be in its original packaging.
- The product must be in a resellable condition.
- The product must be backed by a proof of purchase.
We reserve the right to inspect and test all returned products. Please note that any costs incurred by Standard Lighting will be subtracted from the total amount to be credited/refunded. This includes shipping the product back to us. We reserve the right to charge a handling fee of 10% at our discretion.
Warranty
We carry a 1 year warranty on all items sold on our website. If a product becomes defective during this period you may be entitled to an exchange or repair. Please note that we will not be held responsible for the following:
- Misuse of the product.
- Using the product outside its intended specifications.
- Incorrect installation and subsequent damage of the product.
- External damage such as power surges.
- Negligence of the products instructions.
We reserve the right to inspect and test products to determine the cause of the damage. If a product is found to be defective due to any of the above reasons, any costs involved in returning the product back to us and then back to the customer will be the responsibility of the customer.
If a product is found to be defective out of the box, please alert us within 48 hours after delivery and we will either provide and exchange or refund.
Customer Responsibility
Due to nature of our products, we employ customers to ensure that they purchase the correct product for the correct use case. In all cases it is important that the customer consults a qualified electrician for guidance and installation. We will not be held responsible for any damages that arise from the misuse of our products. It is always the responsibility of the customer to ensure a safe and compliant installation. Customers are responsible for ensuring that all installations follow local laws and compliance standards. By placing an order with us, you agree to indemnify Standard Lighting from all losses, claims, or damages that may arise from improper use of our products.
