We provide structured trade pricing, dependable service, and a distribution network built to move product efficiently across South Africa — ensuring you get what you need, when and where you need it, even in regions with limited supplier access.
How to open a trade account.
- Get in touch with us. Please email sales@standardlighting.co.za. Include in your email your general business activities as well as any supporting documentation. We will be in touch within 24 hours to go through your request.
- Account approval and documentation. Once approved, our accounts department will request the required documentation to finalize your account setup.
- Initial order. To activate your account, we require a first minimum order of R10,000. This does not apply to interior designers.
- Account activation. Once your first order is processed, you gain access to our discounted pricing and dedicated support.
What we offer you.
- Account manager. You will receieve a dedicated account manager who ensures your orders are accurate, on time , and tailored to your business needs. Your account manager is your primary point of contact.
- Discounted pricing. We offer competitive pricing based on monthly spend and per-order volume, ensuring you get the best value for your purchases.
- Reliable supply. Consistent stock availability and clear communication regarding estimated delivery times help you plan your projects or operations with confidence.
- National distribution. Our distribution network allows us to deliver products efficiently across South Africa, even in regions where others might struggle.
- Early access to new products. Stay ahead of the market by being the first to adopt the latest trends and innovations in lighting, electrical, and solar.
Consider before applying.
- Cash basis accounts. All trade accounts operate strictly on a cash basis. Payment for all orders is required in full before delivery or collection. We provide fast, secure payment options to ensure transfers are seamless and cost-effective.
- Shipping and collections. Shipping costs are calculated per order. To help reduce transport expenses, collection from us directly or through one of our nationwide depots is available.
- Minimum order quantities. Certain products and product categories are subject to minimum orders. These include items such as circuit breakers, led lamps, cut or full reel cable, and trunking.
- Active trade accounts. Our account facility is for businesses placing regular, repeat orders. Accounts that remain inactive for three months may be closed to maintain our high level of service. This does not apply to interior designers or contractors with seasonal work.
- Account approval and management. We reserve the right to approve, decline, or close accounts at our discretion, ensuring every trade client receives the level of support we offer.
