Returns
We understand that returns are sometimes necessary. Standard Lighting accepts return requested within 14 days from the date of delivery or collection, provided the product meets our returns requirements.
To be eligible for a return, the product must be unused, in its original packaging, in a resalable condition, and supported by a valid proof of purchase. The return request must also be communicated to us within the 14 day-return period.
All returned products are inspected and tested before a credit or refund can be processed. We reserve the right to decline a return if the product is used, damaged, incomplete, not in its original packaging, or no longer in a resalable condition.

Return Costs
All shipping costs are non-refundable. If a return requires collection or courier transport back to Standard Lighting, the cost of return shipping will be for the customer's account unless otherwise agreed.
Any costs incurred by Standard Lighting in processing a return may be deducted from the total amount to be credited/refunded. This may include courier fees, collection charges, and other handling-related costs. Returns may be subject to a 15% handling fee.
How To Request A Return
To request a return, please email sales@standardlighting.co.za with the following information:
- Your order number
- The item/items you would like to return
- Your collection address, if required
- Parcel size or estimated package dimensions
- Whether you would like a credit or refund
- Banking details, if a refund is selected
As a customer centric company, we are always open to feedback and suggestions. We would appreciate it if you could include in your email the reason for returning the product and what we can do better. This helps us to improve our service and product offering.
Warranty Claims
All products sold on our website carry a minimum 1-year warranty, unless otherwise stated. Some products may carry a longer warranty; however, this will never be below our minimum 1-year warranty.
If a product becomes defective during the warranty period, it may be eligible for repair, replacement, or exchange after assessment. All warranty claims are subject to testing and inspection to determine the cause of failure.
If the product is confirmed to be defective within its warranty period, Standard Lighting will repair or exchange the item and cover all costs associated with returning the product to the customer. This includes the initial return costs back to us. If its our mistake, we will cover it.
If the product is found to have failed due to misuse, incorrect installation, external damage, or use outside its intended specifications, the warranty claim may be declined. In this case, any courier fees and handling costs involved in returning the product to us and back to the customer will be for the customer's account. Standard Lighting reserves the right to hold the item until any outstanding courier fees, assessment costs, or handling fees have been paid in full.

Customer Responsibility
Due to the technical nature of our products, customers are responsible for ensuring that they purchase the correct product for the correct application. Product specifications, ratings, dimensions, compatibility, and installation requirements should be checked carefully before purchase. Where applicable, customers should consult a qualified electrician or suitably qualified professional before purchasing, installing, or using electrical products.
Standard Lighting will not be held responsible for damages, losses, injuries, incorrect installations, product failures, or non-compliant use resulting from incorrect product selection, misuse, incorrect installation, or use outside of the product's stated specifications.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all installations comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and safety requirements. By placing an order with Standard Lighting, the customer agrees to indemnify Standard Lighting from losses, claims, or damages arising from the misuse of our products.
